Last updated 12 October 2026. This covers Monitor, the website monitoring service at app.masteringscale.com, including the Monitor app for Shopify.
Who we are
Monitor is run by Mastering Scale Ltd, 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom. Questions or requests: tom@masteringscale.com.
What we collect from you
Your account: your name, email address and the website you ask us to monitor.
Your settings: your competitors, the questions your customers ask, and who gets alerts.
Public information about your site: speed, uptime, search results, AI answers, and what you and your competitors publish. This is all public.
What we read from your Shopify store
If you connect Shopify, Monitor asks for permission to read orders and nothing else. For each order we keep:
the order number, date, total and currency
where the visit that led to the order came from: the channel (such as email, search or social), the referring site, campaign tags and the number of days from first visit to purchase
We do not store customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses or payment details. We do not change anything in your store.
How we use it
Only to show you your own reports, such as which channels bring in your sales, and to send the alerts and weekly email you ask for. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with other Monitor customers.
Who processes it for us
Vercel and Fly.io, which run the app
Supabase, which hosts the database
Resend, which sends our emails
DataForSEO and Google, for search and page speed results about public websites
Shopify access tokens are stored encrypted.
How long we keep it
Order data older than 13 months is deleted automatically.
All order data is deleted as soon as you disconnect Shopify in Monitor or remove the app in your Shopify admin.
When Shopify asks us to delete a store's data, we delete it.
Account data is kept while your account is open. Email us to close your account and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing tom@masteringscale.com. If you are in the UK or EU you can also complain to your data protection authority. In the UK that is the ICO.
Changes
If this notice changes, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, email account holders.
